Wieno is the first Viennese wine bar - in the truest sense of the word. The bar, near City Hall, sports a slick minimalist interior and serves only Viennese wines, accompanied by small plates. Wieno offers 100 wines from Viennese vintners, encompassing all eight of Vienna's wine-producing areas. All of the top producers are represented, including the five members of the WienWein group (Rainer Christ, Michael Edlmoser, Fritz Wieninger, Mayer am Pfarrplatz, Weingut Cobenzl), Hans Peter Göbel, Stefan Hajszan, and the young Wiener Orchideen vintners (Jutta Ambrositsch, Franz-Michael Mayer, Peter Uhler, Klaus Windischbauer).
Wines from the Wiener Orchideen vintners are also available at Kulinarium 7, an ambitious mix of a restaurant, wine shop, and delicatessen in the picturesque Spittelberg district. Culinary delights are created in a beautiful Biedermeier house, and guests can sample a variety of gourmet treats in the historic three-level brick cellar below. Along with fine balsamic vinegar, oils, salts, and antipasti, the cellar offers the finest wines and spirits, including the creations of the Wiener Orchideen.
