The MuseumsQuartier is currently extremely popular, with its pleasant mix of art and restaurants. A few streets further on, a charming blend of restaurants, shops and crafts businesses has evolved in Spittelberg . If you walk from Spittelberg towards the Gürtel , you will find dozens of small, trendy bars beneath the arches of the Stadtbahn railway, pepping up the mood every evening from Lerchenfelder Gürtel to Döblinger Gürtel .

In the Bermuda Triangle in the old city, you will find one bar after another. In the evening, things get very lively and sometimes quite boisterous. The area around Bäckerstrasse and Sonnenfelsgasse is quieter and caters to more sophisticated tastes.

The Vienna Naschmarkt is particularly attractive. This lively marketplace selling fruit, vegetables, meat and fish has rapidly become a multiethnic culinary rendezvous in recent years. The neighboring Freihaus district boasts everything from coffeehouses and a cookbook shop where meals are also served to cozy student pubs.

Further out from the city, you will come to Margaretenplatz and the suburban flair of old Biedermeier buildings with popular pub gardens in their inner courtyards (Schlossgasse/Hofgasse), as well as traditional Viennese and international bars along Schönbrunner Strasse and Wehrgasse.

Around the Old Hospital there is a student district with a colorful mix of pubs and restaurants on the grounds of the former university clinic, which is also an oasis of green. Along Währinger Strasse and a little off it on Servitengasse , numerous culinary discoveries await you.
