The packed program includes international and home-grown artists alike - and on 15 different stages, from jazz club Porgy & Bess to the Filmcasino.
Up to three acts per day line up from 25 February to 25 March. Over 40 concerts reflect the full stylistic range of the accordion between tradition and lots of innovation.
The accordion greats Riccardo Tesi (picture) & Banditaliana and Renato Borghetti open this year's festival theme "Bella Italia". As always, the line-up is truly international, with musicians from Germany (such as Lüül & Band together with Bratfisch from Vienna), Belgium and France (Sophie Cavez & Baltazar Montanaro), Finland (Lepistö & Lehti) and the USA (Rosi Ledet & The Zydeco Playboys).
The fact that Austrian musicians play a big role in the accordion world is underscored by a concert evening in the Metropol, when Sterzinger Experience and Ernst Molden & band perform with Walther Soyka, together with accordion perennial Otto Lechner.
Further program items include the silent movie matinee with live accordion background music in the Filmcasino and the Magic Afternoon for children.
