The Pratersauna is open again, only not as a classic sauna, but as an original venue. The rooms extend over a spacious 1,800 m² and are intended to serve as a meeting place for a sophisticated target group from the worlds of music, art, culture and lifestyle. The operators have a kind of "mini MuseumsQuartier" in mind, but instead of museums the venue offers a meadow and pool, a mix of music, entertainment, club, dining, drinking, culture and exhibition space.
The Pratersauna was built in 1965 and is located in the Vienna Prater, not far from the legendary Schweizerhaus, an inn that is famous for its excellent beer, great Stelze pork knuckle and delightful garden. The former Pratersauna had an extremely mixed clientele, ranging from the mayor to the red-light pimp. The sauna was closed at the end of 2008, but now the doors have been reopened. The existing style of the building has been largely retained to produce several self-contained areas , such as the restaurant, club, bar, terrace and gallery. Guests can also use the swimming pool in the garden.
