Around ten years ago, the Rhiz was a central point of contact for Vienna's burgeoning electronic scene. In particular, sound experiments took place there almost daily with the still very young instrument of the laptop and avant-garde improvisations.  Internationally celebrated artists such as Fennesz, Radian and Pita Rehberg grew up artistically in the Rhiz and swapped ideas.

Today as well, concerts ranging from advanced electronic to experimental rock regularly take place in the Rhiz on Vienna's Gürtel, in the midst of two three-lane motorways and right beneath the rails of the U6. DJs play to the bar with an eclectic, in parts difficult, but always passionate selection of music, while people also dance on the tables here at the weekends to beats and basses.
